John Weldon Students Raise Money for Kids in Need

On the eightieth day of the school year, John Weldon Elementary utilized the nostalgia connected with the 1980s for a good cause, hosting a spirit day fundraiser. Their 80s-themed spirit day cost students and staff $1 to wear clothing and/or accessories associated with one of the twenty-first century’s more colorful decades. A day that was full of fun and interesting scenery, the good times brought in over $300 for the Together We Rise organization, which provides “Sweet Cases” duffel bags that are given to area foster children.  READ MORE...

John Weldon Elementary, part of the Francis Howell School District (FHSD), hosted its first-ever Turkey Luncheon, inviting families from the school community to join them in feasting and fellowship. All we need is an opportunity to succeed. Athletes play the game for the thrill of victory, but not everyone gets that chance. The Francis Howell Special Olympics (FHSO) wants to make sure that no one gets left in the crowd, no matter their ability or experience with sports. And on Oct. 1, groups of thrilled athletes came to Francis Howell North (FHN) High School fields for a Special Olympics softball tournament.   READ MORE...

Student safety is always a top priority of the Francis Howell School District (FHSD). The District annually conducts a variety of safety drills including fire, tornado, earthquake and intruder drills. Participation in these safety drills is where most students get directly involved in their own safety.
