FHSD Recognized for Bus Safety

The buses that safely transport students of the Francis Howell School District (FHSD) every day will display a special new sticker starting in August, after earning the “Total Fleet Excellence” distinction for 2016. The stickers indicate excellence in the overall maintenance and reliability of the District’s bus fleet. The distinction is determined by the Missouri State Highway Patrol based on the results of the annual school bus inspection, a program conducted by the Patrol’s Motor Vehicle Inspection Division
Girls are on the Run to Success

It is the goal of every teacher in the Francis Howell School District (FHSD) to inspire his or her students to be healthy and confident. But some teachers somehow can inspire students to go the extra mile – literally. FHSD had girls from three schools participate in the Girls on the Run Program this fall. They competed in a five-kilometer run in downtown St. Louis on Nov. 14, among five thousand other participants from around the region.
Colorful Community – John Weldon Color Dash

As springtime rolls around, many people start seeking ways to get in better shape. The most colorful way to do it was to join in the fun and fellowship of the John Weldon Elementary Color Dash 5K. Families and friends got together in the name of good health, and just as importantly, good fun.
Superheroes Swoop into John Weldon Elementary

Look in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s…Zero the Hero! At John Weldon Elementary, super things are happening every day. But on Jan. 27, the hundredth day of school in Francis Howell School District’s (FHSD) hundredth year, there were no zeroes, only heroes. John Weldon’s classrooms had three superheroes swoop in and help them learn to count from zero to one hundred.
